On Wednesday 12th of February, coordinators of the three groups awarded in the 2024 Naturethon round presented their ideas during the “Bottom-up: Engaging citizens in Nature-based Solutions” session of the Naturance Webstival.

Martin Kubáň coordinated a group of Slovak students and experts working on the realization of two green roofs and three green walls in Bratislava. The second selected project was led by Mar Fabregat Esteve who proposed a shift toward green infrastructures to enhance the resilience of a city, such as Valencia, particularly fragile to the consequences of climate change as the severe flood of last November demonstrates. Last but not least, Terhile Dominic Uchi coordinated a series of initiatives in Nigeria to promote the adoption of Nature-based Solutions in the agricultural sector spreading the use of Digital Climate Advisory Services.

Moreover, the session resumed the main outcomes of the initiative, that supported the formation of citizen group meetings focused on identifying innovative financial strategies for Nature-based Solutions. To stimulate the exchange of ideas, a live session of citizen engagement followed through a digital collaborative platform.
