WORKSHOP – Regional Dialogue on Nature-Based Insurance
The workshop will bring together 15-20 experts in insurance, innovation, and nature-based solutions to explore potential business cases for innovative nature-based investment and insurance solutions (NBIS). Discussions will focus on risk and performance assessments that strengthen these business cases, as well as governance aspects, including social justice and equitable outcomes. Participants will explore synergies and opportunities for collaboration. The discussions will focus on innovative nature-based insurance strategies, sharing best practices, and working together to advance the adoption of nature-
based solutions (NbS) in the insurance and investment sectors.
This expert workshop is jointly organized by NATURANCE with the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII), a platform that brings together leading insurers, academics, and non-governmental organizations to address the risks posed by climate change. MCII’s core mission is to develop innovative insurance solutions that reduce the impacts of climate risks and promote resilience, particularly for vulnerable communities.
