The main purpose of this report by the Sustainable Market Initiative is to guide practitioners in considering the incorporation of coastal NBS into financial structuring. The document proposes a definition of coastal NbS assets and identifies financial structures that can be used to finance these assets, taking into account the project life cycle. It also illustrates the role of different asset classes in moving capital to coastal NbS. Finally, it identifies key considerations for the financing of coastal NbS projects in Italy.
