Webstival on Advancing Finance Innovations for Nature-based Solutions
NATURANCE consortium invited participation in its second virtual innovation webstival, focusing on nature-based insurance and investment instruments for ecosystem restoration as part of climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction. This fully online event took place over three days, from 11 to 13 February 2025, and combined different forms of engagement including keynote talks, technical panels, workshops, break-out discussions, and policy dialogues.
The webstival explored innovative financial mechanisms, including insurance solutions, biodiversity credits, and ecosystem restoration investments, that leverage nature’s value in mitigating climate risks. Participants from financial organizations, risk experts, nature-based solution practitioners, and government representatives reviewed best practices, discussed sustainable investment and insurance finance principles, and raised awareness of the role of financial systems in promoting nature-based solutions for resilience and disaster risk reduction.
Moreover, the webstival provided opportunities for skill building, and created a marketplace for matching demands and offers for innovative financial solutions at local and regional scales across Europe. Don’t miss the opportunity to engage with global thought leaders and shape the future of green finance!
